TIMOL 100G
Thymol is a herbal medicine that is produced from thyme.
The drug Timol can be used at air temperatures not lower than 7 ° C and not higher than 27 ° C during the active summer of bees.
Thymol is a white crystals or white powder, with a characteristic odor, spicy-burning taste, slightly soluble in cold water. It is soluble in alcohol, chloroform, ether, fatty oils and glacial acetic acid. NesovmTimol is a herbal medicine that is produced with camphor, menthol, and salol.
PROPERTIES: the drug has pronounced acaricidal, bactericidal, nosemacidal and fungicidal properties. APPLICATION OF THE DRUG: used for the treatment of varroosis and acarapidosis of bees, as well as for the prevention of nosematosis, ascopherosis and foulbrood diseases of the brood of bees. The drug is used in the spring after the bees fly around and during the autumn growth of bee colonies. METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE:
1. In the form of feeding with medicinal sugar syrup of 50% concentration, 100 ml per frame covered with bees. Medicinal sugar syrup is distributed in the evening into ceiling feeders or into empty honeycombs, which are placed in the brood part of the nest. Bees are fed with sugar syrup with the drug 4 times with an interval of 3-4 days. A working solution of the drug is prepared by dissolving 3 g of the drug in 25 liters of sugar syrup. When preparing sugar syrup, first dissolve Timol in hot water, and then the required amount of sugar. The contents (3 g) are used to process 250 frames with bees.
2. In the form of medicinal kandi. Medicinal kandi is prepared by thoroughly mixing 3 grams of the drug with 10 kg of kandi. Medicinal kandi is given to bees as a supplement at the rate of 40 g per 1 frame covered by bees. For preventive treatment, one-time feeding of medicinal candi is sufficient. To treat bees, feeding medicinal candy is carried out 3 times with an interval of 6-7 days. 10 kg of kandi is used to process 250 frames with bees.
3. The drug Timol is sprayed in the nest along the upper bars of the frames at the rate of 2.5 g per family of 10 streets; 2 times every 7 days (course of treatment for families with a weak or moderate degree of damage) or 3 times every 4 days (course of treatment for families with a severe degree of damage). 2-3 days after the last treatment, the drug in bags is placed in a family where the air temperature should not exceed 27 °C. It is not recommended to open the hive within 48 hours after treatment, since a new air flow sharply reduces the therapeutic concentration of the drug vapor.
4. The drug Timol is used in cloth bags. A bag with 5 g of thymol (per family) is placed on top of the nest at the back wall of the hive for 12 days, after 5 days it is kneaded and replenished as it evaporates. It is not recommended to open the hive within 48 hours after treatment, since a new air flow sharply reduces the therapeutic concentration of the drug vapor. If the drug Timol gets on open brood or caps of printed brood, bees remove it. After treatment with Timol, the mites fall off the bees. The effect of Timol on female ticks gives positive results: in addition to general toxic poisoning, they also experience a decrease in fertility.
5. Used when treating varotosis using a smoke gun. A solution of 100 g alcohol (for 25 bee colonies), 10 g thymol and 15 g oxalic acid. Oxalic acid and thymol are diluted in heated (in a water bath) alcohol to 40-50 degrees.
ADVANTAGES: the drug is non-toxic to bees and brood of all ages. Does not negatively affect the reproductive function of the uterus; does not impair the biological and sanitary quality of bee products. Promotes intensive spring and autumn development of bee colonies. The drug Timol can be used at air temperatures not lower than 7 ° C and not higher than 27 ° C during the active summer of bees.
STORAGE CONDITIONS: store the drug in tightly closed packaging, protected from direct sunlight at temperatures from 5°C to 25°C. It is not allowed to store the drug in a room accessible to unauthorized persons.
SAFETY MEASURES: exclude access to the drug for children and unauthorized persons. All work should be carried out in special clothing (gown, rubber gloves, safety glasses). Smoking, drinking and eating are prohibited during work. If the drug accidentally gets into your eyes or skin, they should be rinsed immediately with plenty of running water. After work, you should thoroughly wash your face and hands with warm water and soap, wash and dry your gloves.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Treatment of bees with Timol is stopped a week before the start of honey collection. Weak colonies consisting of less than three full streets of bees cannot be treated with Timol. Honey selected from processed families can be eaten without restrictions.
